Inside the Submarine Lagoon and Caverns

The Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage celebrated it's first Anniversary this June. Here it in June of 2006 under Construction. Enjoy!

Here are the "new" ruins taking shape in the lagoon. The white PVC pipe stucture is a mock up of a sub.

This gives you a good pespective of how deep the sub lagoon is and how far down the support pillers for the monorail go. It truly is a "Highway in the Sky!"

Next Time We Explore the Caverns...

Inside Walt's Apartment

The North side of the apartment. These couches are pull out hide-a-beds. The pilows for the beds are still kept in compartments behind the couch pillows.

A view of the south side of the apartment. The Regina music box is to the far right. Regina, based in New Jersey, was the first music box company in America, and "regina" was synonymous wth the term "music box" in the 1890's. This is their model #35, which plays up to 12 discs continuously, with an automatic disc changer. It would have cost $175 in 1902.

Very few of the current bric-a-brac items actually belonged to the Disney family. They do, however, closely mirror the original style of Lillian's collection. Mrs. Disney was fond of Antiques and the Apartment was originally decorated with Items collected on travels, as well as items purchased at Disneyland.

Walt's Apartment

Welcome to my new blog! I hope to share some of my Disney Treasures with other fans who will enjoy them!

For My first post, let's visit one of the most special places in Disneyland... Walt's Apartment! After traveling up a flight of stairs behind the firehouse you reach a small landing. Upon opening the door, this is the first view into the apartment. The door on the right is a small closet and ahead is Walt's Edison gramophone. The gramophone as well as the Regina music box in the apartment were gifts from Walt to Lillian. Several original wax cylinders are still kept in the apartment and are playable.

The opposite view. Looking towards the "front door."
